"I want to ask about the bank letter for a 1-year extension. My Bangkok Bank account is from another province, which is about 6 hours away from where I currently live. So I want to get the letter from a nearby branch. Can I get the letter from any branch, or do I have to get it from the branch where I opened the account? If I get it from my original branch, it will take me another 6 hours to return. I’ve heard that the bank letter can only be used on the same day — is that true? Can someone advise me, thank you."

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on whether they can obtain a bank letter for a one-year visa extension from a Bangkok Bank branch different from where they opened their account, given the distance involved. Responses confirm that it is possible to get the letter at any Bangkok Bank branch, provided the necessary documents are prepared, such as a bank statement. However, it is noted that some immigration offices may require the bank letter to be dated the same day of application, while others may accept letters up to seven days old. Users suggest confirming specific requirements with the local immigration office.
My immigration office in nakphon requested same day

They will accept the bank balance certification dated the day prior to you attending at CM immigration.. meaning if you update your book and get the letter on Monday you can still use it on Tuesday morning.. and it's kinda necessary if you are going to immigration at 8:30-9:00 am in the morning when the bank won't be open 😉 Ps. And if you bank with BB you can download your statements as pdf docs and then print them off yourself.. without having to pay a fee!

change your home branch. Get your TM30, visit Immigration and ask them for the certificate of residency. Then visit the bank branch and ask them to update your address and phone number. Done

I had opened an account in the city and I got my letter done in the small country town. It took 7 days and 200 baht as stated . At my immigration office I had to deposit money into the account that morning, to prove the account is still active . Then update the bank book and then get a copy. They disregarded the last page of the banks report and replaced it with my updated bank book page. Oh yes and it took 7 days . I got it the day before I went to immigration.
I have also used a different branch in the past for the letter and statement, so it's definitely possible. As always this is Thailand, so it's also possible a bank might refuse, so dress appropriately, be polite and hopefully you will have no problems.
The yearly statement takes 7 days to prepare. I had to go into the bank, request it and pay the 200 baht, then go back in 7 days later to pick it up. I then also ask for the bank letter, pay the other 100 baht, then run straight to the immigration office.
You might be able to start the request on line, which could save you a trip. May want to call Bangkok bank and see if that can save you the first trip.
, not all immigration offices accept the PDF version sent by email. Some allow only bank printout versions, and some accept PDF if it's with an actual bank stamp. You better check with your local office what versions they'd accept for financial proof.
Yes, you are right. But you can print it out, take to your bank and they'll stamp it. And with that the Immigration is happy. Talking from my own experience...
, as I wrote, some offices are not happy with pdf ver even if it stamps by bank. They want a bank printed transaction history. Better to check in advance.
like I described, I get the bank letter at the bank. But I read somewhere you can request the statement online. The app can email you an annual statement, but you would have to print it out, and whether immigration would accept it is something only your immigration office can answer.
At most immigration offices the bank letter can be up to 7 days old but SOME offices want the letter the day you apply for the extension, so you'd have to check with your office
As a rule you can get the bank letter, and the yearly statement printed off at any branch of your bank not just the one you got the account at. Check with one by where you live and see what they say,
When I use the monthly income method the SCB told me home branch - not a mall branch for example. Does Jomtien still need same day as that is a real pain?
