Does anyone have experience of obtaining a letter from Bangkok Bank at the Chaeng Wattana complex confirming funds etc on the same day you apply for renewal . One would assume they’re quite used to issuing them . Just looking at options .
Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the possibility of obtaining a same-day letter from Bangkok Bank at the Chaeng Wattana complex to confirm their funds for a visa extension. Several comments clarified that while it's possible to request the letter on the same day, it is not strictly necessary, as the bank letter can be up to 7 days old. The important factor is that the bank book should be updated on the same day of the application, with both documents needing to show a balance over 800,000 baht.

you don't NEED to do that. the bank letter confirming your balance can be up to 7 days old it's the bank book that has to be updated the date you apply for the extension. The balances on the letter and the bank book don't have to match as long as they're both over 800K baht.
you can get it up to a week before, just go to your bank and get it before you slog out there BUT if you can't the branch on floor 1 of Chaengwattana WILL write one on the spot. Be prepared to wait a good 30-40 minutes for it though (you'd think a b/s form letter would be able to be pounded out faster 😛 ) but that's how long I saw someone wait for it
.... cheers Tod . In the past I’ve got the letter a few days before and just went straight in at opening time . Just weighing up options . I suppose a 30 minute wait for the letter isn’t so bad but obviously your waiting for the bank to
that's the down side, you can't queue up at the immigration office (the appointment system is STILL down) and also wait for the bank to open too. They both open at 8:30 (actually they let you in to the immigration office just before that)
You're stuck, you either just blow off getting in the immigration queue until after you get the bank letter; which if you are there at 8:30 you should have by 9:00-9:10 and then go up and take your chancs with the queue upstairs. OR you get it the day before at your branch, show up and just update your bank book downstairs WHILE you're in the immigration queue upstairs and get in when they open.
