What type of bank letter is required for a Non-O visa extension in Thailand?

I requested Bangkok bank to issue the letter to confirm I have over 400k in the account for over 2 months for my Non O extension of stay. They gave me this letter below which I don't believe mentions 2 months. Is this the correct letter? If not then does someone have a sample of a Bangkok Bank letter required because they said this is the only letter they issue. At Chaeng Wattana, is there a Bangkok Bank downstairs that issues the correct letter?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user sought clarification about the type of bank letter needed for a Non-O visa extension in Thailand, specifically regarding proof that 400k THB has been in their account for two months. Commenters clarified that the standard letter from the bank does not mention a two-month period. Instead, it's crucial to have a recent (ideally same-day) bank book update and a detailed transaction history for at least six months. This showing is necessary for immigration purposes. It's suggested to get the bank letter the day before the application and to update the bank book on the day of the application, confirming that a transaction must take place to ensure it reflects the current balance.

The bride rang our bank branch and booked in the day before we had to go to immigration, for the letter and transaction history, so they didn't look quite as confused as if we had just rocked up. Next morning stopped at the atm en route, easy peasy.... It was overkill but we also made two sets of copies of everything , the lady officer we saw was in raptures, I think... 555

That is correct certify letter from the bank and you need bank statement and photo copy of bank statement on the day of your renewal.

The letter mention the date that you opened your account. Which was from September 16. And on the date of you appointment you need to update you book bank by doing your transection and update the book. Then make photo copy.

I understand the bank book has to be updated on the day of application but the statement doesn't have to be the same day

Remember that bank letter that you posted an image of is only valid for 7 days and you need to update the bank book again on the date you're applying for the yearly extension

can you just clarify then, it is ok to get the letter from the bank the day before. ?

This recently caught me out. You do need to update the bank book on the actual day of application. If you haven't had any transactions on that date it won't update to the correct date. You need to actually have a transaction take place on day of application before submitting application inorder for the bank book to be updated correctly

Thanx for pointing that out

Most people pull out 100 baht from the ATM then use the passbook updater to get the current days balance :) then go copy that page at the copy shops

Just so everyone's clear. IF you use your bank account that you have your proof of funds in and you don't update the bank book every couple of weeks or at least once a month when you go to update it they don't print every transaction anymore. They print a summary of money in, money out, and the balance. <- That is often NOT ENOUGH proof for the immigration office to show you met the proof of funds. That's why they're asking for a years transaction history for retirement extensions using banked money AND 6 months transaction history for marriage extensions using banked money.

Yes I always get that letter along with a printed statement as Tod Mentioned

That's the "standard" bank letter, there is no letter that says the funds have been in your account for 2 months.

That's why you either update your bank book every month OR you get a print out of the last 6 months of detail transactions transactions (they can print it on the spot)

Wondering why we need a statement of last 6 months when we need to show proof that money has been in the account for 2 months.

@Tod ********
thanks. I best get the statement print out then because I don't update the book often and when I did today, it put in one transaction for activity between June last year and March this year.

@Steven ***************
get the 6 month detail transaction history from them too

what's the difference with a statement and 6 month detail transaction history. Does the statement just show month by month of total in and out?

@Ste***
I think we're talking about the same thing. Just ask for 6 months transaction record.
