TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice regarding the bank letter needed to show sufficient funds for renewing a Retirement Visa Extension in Pattaya. Responses from the community indicate that different immigration offices have varying policies on the validity of bank letters: some accept letters dated up to 7 days prior, while others may only accept those issued on the same day. The user decided to obtain the bank letter on the same day they plan to visit the immigration office to avoid any issues.

Thank you everyone, due to no clear rules on this, i will not take the risk and I will go the same day, its just my branch has closed down, and the nearest one they directed me to in Big C extra, does not open till 11am. I have to go two times, and then to Jomtien, its not easy with no transport in the days, but i will manage it.. thanks everyone, gonna turn commenting off.

I recently did this in Pattaya. I got my bank letter the same day I went to immigration. I had to come back with some other items they said I needed and asked them about the bank note validity and they said it was good for 2 more days. I came back the same day so I can't verify if the agent was using her own discretion or if it is standard policy in Jomtien.

post on a pattaya related group and you'll get more accurate answers ๐Ÿ™‚ Hate to see you get the letter early and then need one dated that day

ALSO

If you're using banked money method you should get a year detail transaction print out (most offices require it) AND some banks you need to order it in advance

The regular bank letter and the year detail transaction history look like this

The bank letter looks like this photo (poster on Bangkok Bank branch at CW).

How many days old the bank letter can be depends on the immigration office. For example, Bangkok accepts up to 7days old, some offices only accept 3days old, a few accept only the same day issue.

I was told at Ubon immigration it has to be from the day you renew
