TLDR : Answer Summary
The questioner is facing a two-week overstay on a three-month Non-B visa due to requirements for a document needed for a one-year extension. They inquire whether they can still legalize their stay with a valid work permit and necessary documents. Comments suggest checking the validity of the work permit, options to renew the visa at the local immigration office, and possible solutions from the immigration office regarding paying the overstay fine.

Better check if your work permit is still valid, as they usually expire when your visa expires.

Ah, I see, the other way round. But then why is it that if you go out on a non-B visa forgetting to get a re-entry permit, you have to go through the whole work permit process again?

Your work permit doesn't expire with your visa, it has it's own expiry date. Although your NON-B visa will expire within 7 days or so, once your work permit is not valid anymore.

Why didn't u just renew your none immigrants B visa at your local immigration office? ? I've heard no paperwork needed in great details if just renewing it, but getting your first one then that's a different kettle of fish

That's what I'm talking about mate lol go to your local immigration office after a year with new paperwork from The company's u work for

@And***
, again, what they don't do is renew either a visa OR an extension of stay.

Extensions of stays are granted for no longer than a year at a time, then you go back to the immigration office with another pile 'o paperwork and apply for a brand new extension.

Yes the company who u work for arrange the paperwork then just renew your none immigrants B visa at your local immigration office. My friends do it every single year here in Thailand

@And***
, your terminology is a little off :/

You can NEVER EVER renew a visa (of any type) inside or outside of thailand!

You apply for an extension of stay by following the criteria needed for that extension.

@And***
, FWIW: you need a "pile 'O paperwork" to get an extension of stay based on employment off a B visa here :O You don't just waltz in and ask for one.

Local immi will not do the extension on a non b if you have only a 50.000 wp , they will sent you to the border

And take all the needed copies with you, otherwise you would not get an Extension of Stay. Renew a visa not possible.

Yes mate once u already have a none immigrants B visa for working within Thailand when its due to end u just go along to your local immigration office, but whoever u work for should have told u this

Your opinions and suggestions are much needed anyone who knows of any solution

Or knows anyone who had this same trouble and got a solution or knows how immigration can handle this your comment is highly appreciated

You'd need to go to the immigration office and see if you can pay the overstay and then apply for your extension of stay.

I've had friends on as much as a month overstay be able to pay the overstay fine and then immediately get another year long extension of stay, but those were based on being over 50 (retirement) not employment..

I think the immigration office would be the place to ask..
