I am here on a non-imm B visa as a visiting university professor. My visa and work permit expire shortly. I would like to stay an extra 1-2 weeks, more or less just as a tourist, after that. Is there anyway to get a short extension like that, on a non-tourist and non-imm visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending their non-immigrant B visa to stay in Thailand for an additional 1-2 weeks for tourism after their work permit expires. Comments suggest applying for a COVID extension or risk overstaying and paying a fine.

What if one just overstays their visa a week? Pay 3,500 baht fine at airport? Is it a problem?
