Hi everyone, looking for a quick answer to a question. My work visa is expiring on March 31st. I want to stay in the country for an additional 3 weeks (so less than 30 days). Do I have to leave the country or can I go to local immigration and get some kind of extension?
I figure it’s worth asking but I am pretty sure I’ll need to do leave and come back.
TÍA for any and all help 🙂

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is inquiring if it's possible to extend their work visa for an additional 3 weeks in Thailand or if they must leave the country upon expiration on March 31st. Community responses clarify that there is generally no extension for a NON-B visa or a work-related extension but suggest that if the individual has a valid entry visa, they could exit and re-enter to receive a 30-day visa-exempt entry. If on an extension of stay, it must be canceled at immigration before leaving.
IF you're on an entry from the VISA itself, you can just stamp out and then re-enter to get a 30 day visa exempt entry.
BUT
IF you are on an extension of stay (that you got from the immigration office) you need to go there and CANCEL that before you exit the country so that it's officially canceled. Then you can stamp back in on a 30 day visa exempt entry
