If I do a visa run to Laos, I can get a 60 day visa right? Can I get one for multiple entries? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Individuals doing a visa run to Laos can obtain a 60-day single entry tourist visa from Thai consulates there, particularly the one in Vientiane, which has fewer requirements. However, a multiple entry tourist visa cannot be acquired in Laos; it must be obtained from the applicant's home country or Australia.
, there are two thai consulates in Lao, one in Vientiane and one in Savannakhet.
You could apply for a tourist visa at either of them BUT of the two the one in Vientiane is easier to deal with because they do not require you to show proof of onward travel in 60 days, proof of 20K baht in a bank account or proof of a hotel booking.
You go to the consulate, turn in your application one morning before 11:30 and you pick up your passport the next afternoon after 1:30.
It's not that hard to pull it off yourself. Face it you ain't gonna be the only foreigner there ;)
I'd say from Bangkok fly an early morning Nok Air flight to Udon Thani.
Take the mini van at the airport to the Nong Khai border. Get your Lao visa, get to the thai consulate, turn in your paperwork, go chill at a guest house until the next afternoon, then go get your passport at 1:30 and high-tail it back to Udon Thani in time to catch the 6PM flight back to Bangkok.

Yeah I've looked at them but they're a bit more expensive than other places I've talked to. Thank you for the resource and the advice. ๐

That depends on where you are in thailand.
In Bangkok there's a company called Thai Visa Service that goes to Vientiane twice a week on Sundays and Wednesdays. They have an all in price for transportation, hotel, visa for lao, etc.

As has been said, you're only gonna get a single entry tourist visa from ANY thai consulate around here.

Re-entry permits might be a solution.

that would let them come and go (y) but it wouldn't buy them anymore than the 60 days they got stamped in for. :/

If you are talking about TOURIST VISA, in Laos you can only get a single entry visa (60 days). You can get a multi entry tourist visa only in your home country (or in Australia), not in Laos

You will not get a multi entry tourist visa in Laos, only a single entry.
