As an older American who's already been here on Visa exemptions plus extensions and one land border run to Laos since October 2022, I suddenly need to stay longer for a friend with advanced cancer. I'd like to apply for the two month Visa or something similar but it seems for all of them I have to do it from outside of Thailand and it takes a while. Is there any way to do it online or in 2 days in Malaysia since I need to return to Krabi? Thanks much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
An American expat in Thailand needs to stay longer due to a friend's medical emergency and is inquiring about obtaining a two-month visa. Responses indicate that obtaining a tourist visa from within Thailand is not possible, and applying typically requires returning to a neighboring country, such as Malaysia or Vietnam. Recommendations include considering the Non-O visa for those over 50, checking with the friend's medical team for possible extensions, and using local immigration offices or visa agents for assistance.

You can only apply for visas outside if Thailand…the 60 day SETV cost is ฿1,900 can be extended for 30 day at your local immigration office for ฿1,900 to give you 90 days in country
Sophia Rose fly out to somewhere close and cheap like Vietnam and back again as there are technically no limits to airport reentry’s like there are with ground entry’s,…though at the end of the day it’s always luck of the draw with immigration.
You cannot get a tourist visa inside Thailand and none of the Thai consulates in countries in SE participate in the evisa system.
You have to submit your application in person.
You're also very likely to be questioned at the airport about why you're spending so much time in Thailand on short term visas and there's a risk that you'll be denied entry for abusing the system.
I'm very aware of the law and everything I have done has been legal or I wouldn't have been approved, and I have asked at every airport and immigration office if my next step is okay. So I am not abusing the system but I know you can only do that routine so many times, and I did not expect to have a friend with stage 4 cancer as I already stated in my post.
