I am in laos now.heading back to Thailand,  has anyone applied for a multiple entry or 90 day visa at embassy ,to return back into Thailand .

You cannot apply for a multiple entry tourist visa as you can only do that in your home country. You can apply for a single entry tourist visa though. Check the website of the consulate you want to apply at for the requirements. Vientiane requires and appointment while Savannakhet does not.
