TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have a multiple-entry tourist visa (commonly a 6-month METV visa), you do not need to obtain a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand, as each entry allows a stay of 60 days with the possibility of extending each stay by an additional 30 days, provided you enter Thailand before the visa expiry date.

There is no 90 day multiple entry visa. There is a 6 month METV visa granting you multiple entries, each entry is 60 days and can be extended once per entry another 30 days. You need to enter before the expiry/enter before date on the visa for your final entry and stamp.

No, if you have a multiple-entry tourist visa (60 days on entry), then you do not need a re-entry permit, as the visa itself is mult-entry.

then you can come in/out all you want right up until the 5th of Sept and each time you enter you will get stamped in on a 60 day stamp

If you have an eVisa from the online application website, make sure you print out that PDF <- as it is your visa, and show it & your passport when you stamp in
