How does the multiple entry Visit Family Visa work for Thailand?

Hi, I have a question about the VISIT THAI FAMILY VISA. The single entry gives a 90-day stay which may be extended for 60 days. How does the MULTIPLE entry visa work? Does it exist for this visa? I see an option for this when applying online. If you leave the country after 150 days can you reenter with a multiple entry?

Thanks for the help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query concerns the VISIT THAI FAMILY VISA and its handling of multiple entries. While the single entry offers a 90-day stay with a possible 60-day extension, clarification is sought regarding the existence and operation of a multiple entry version of this visa. Comments suggest that this specific visa may not exist as a one-year multiple entry option, and they recommend considering the single-entry TOURIST VISA with an extension for longer stays. Furthermore, they advise consulting on this matter once borders reopen.

I have never seen this visa sold as a one year multiple entry visa. With the land borders being closed, having a multiple entry visa will be of no value.

My opinion: ask this question when the borders reopen.

I allowed this to hopefully answer it correctly.

...you say Visit Family visa...there is no such visa.

Is this for you or a friend?

Are you married to a Thai who is in Thailand and you are wanting to visit ?

Do you have a Thai child in Thailand?

What VISA are you going to apply for ?

Why not keep it simple

Get the single entry TOURIST VISA ...that gives you 60+30=90 days in Thailand...

And IF YOU QUALIFY for the 60 days Family Visit Extension.. ...

Apply for it at Thai immigration...

That will give you 90+60=150 days stay in Thailand

Thanks for trying to answer. My last visa was a single entry non O (on the basis of being an over 50 parent of an adult Thai child to visit her child). It is an uncommon basis for the non-o visa but does exist! I was admitted for 90 days. After that I got a visit family extension of stay for 60 days. I used the visa in Jan 2020.

I’d like to know if I can apply for the same non-O visa but as a MULTIPLE entry? and to know what exactly the multiple entry means. Thanks for your alternative suggestion but, for reasons I will not go into, your suggestion would not work for me.

sorry...I have given you correct answers...for some reasons you wish not to disclose the real reason you find them not acceptable.

We wish you good luck.

and the METV at this time is useless as ALL THAI LAND BORDERS are CLOSED. And neighbor nations are NOT accepting foreigners at this time...so you would have to leave Thailand at 90 days.

Incidentally as a woman I don’t need money seasoned in an account for my non O visa. My interest is in getting a multiple entry non O visa allowing a stay of 90 days. I then can either extend for 60 or (if I am correct?) could leave the country and return in the future using the multiple entry. I’m not sure how to confirm this is indeed possible and what it might entail.

totally IS possible IF you can bounce out and back to activate another entry on the year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa. As people keep saying right now the options to border bounce entail meeting entry requirements in the country you're bouncing in to and meeting the entry requirements to come back into thailand.

No one knows if the requirements will ease up after the new year and/or other countries will open up nearby. You're out nothing but the 200 dollars that visa cost to get it and wait and see. Worst case you get the 90 days, take a 60 day visit family extension and you are done.

Thanks. Easiest and cheapest for me would be a multiple entry non O. But I don’t want to apply for the visa and be rejected if they don’t offer multiple entries. That’s why I’m trying to find out about multiple entry visa. Can you recommend where I might find the answer? The thai embassy in London is almost impossible to get hold of (I have been on hold for hours with no answer several times!) Any pointers?

I really do not understand why the tourist visa plus family visit = 150 days stay would not work...

But if you can get the Non O as before..

Get it.
