Evening everybody.
Firstly, Thank You for the ad.
I was advised to ask this forum a visa question, but I believe the gentlemen from the Korat/Expats groups were helpful;
I'm a UK national in between jobs. Came into BKK on a 30day standard visa which runs out on 28-Nov.
I'm married to a Thai, have enough money in my account and my name is on property deeds.
My initial question was "could I get an 'O' 1 year married to a Thai visa" internally to extend my current 30day visa, or do I need to go to Vientiane, get a 90day 'O' visa and then apply for the 1 year extension from inside the Kingdom?
My secondary question was that if I had to use the 90day 'O' visa option would there be an issue obtaining it, if I had another 30day visa extension meaning I would go to Laos mid December instead of next week?
Thank you in advance ๐
TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK national is seeking advice on whether they can convert their 30-day visa into a 1-year Non-O visa based on being married to a Thai citizen while staying in Thailand. The individual has received various suggestions, including the possibility of converting their visa at a local immigration office if they have enough days left on their current stamp, or traveling to a nearby country to obtain the visa.
