Hi Tod, I have a question here. My son-in-law is in Thailand with my daughter who is Thai-American. He has a 3 month visa which will expire on oct 23. I am also a Thai-American and know a little about Thai immigration. But things have changed a lot. Maybe you can help me here. I think my son in law can go to the immigration with my daughter and marriage license and get his visa extended to one year. Please advise if this is correct. Do they need an appointment there? Thanksssss.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The son-in-law can extend his visa in Thailand as he is married to a Thai citizen. He is eligible for a 60-day family visit extension or can meet financial requirements for a one-year extension. It is advisable for him and his Thai wife to visit the immigration office to obtain information about the extension process and requirements. They can apply for the extension when there are 30 days or less remaining on his current visa.
