Your newly applied initial in-country Non-O visa would be approved at any time during the under-review (not under consideration) period. Your approval date could be any day between your application date and the day you would be directed to be back at the immigration office. This means you could lose 0-15 days of your under-review period. No downside for you to ask an immigration officer in advance about when your visa application is really approved, but easy to guess even the immigration officer who accepts your documents cannot answer for sure.

Strange idea, but why not apply before travel for the Non Immigrant O visa based on being married to a Thai National, get 90 days on entry and apply after 45 days for the 1 year Extension of Stay.

Thanks for that but it does not work for the wedding being 10th May but will if the rules say that l retain the 15 days

@Bruce **********
forget about getting the one year extension of stay as Married...before you go to the wedding.

Use the family visit extension of stay of 60 days... does that work for you?

Just to add to that l would return on the say 15th May on 30 day exempt so out of Thailand for 12 days do you think that would be questioned by immigration?
James ********
Get your 30 day extension of stay at Thai Immigration office... and IF More time is NEEDED get the 60 day family visit extension of stay.

Suggest you wait until you return to Thailand from your daughters wedding...then get the Non O Visa as Married to Thai and the One year extension of stay as Married.

You can enter Thailand Visa EXEMPT and get 30 days Plus one 30 day extension plus one 60 day family visit extension of stay. You have MANY options... Just rework your dates to serve you best.

You will be stamped in for 60 days and you can extend for a further 30 days normally, or 60 days to visit your wife.

But my plans are to stay in Thailand permantly so the way l explained it works best l think. The wedding is 10th May which means the extension is the 17th May if l do not regain the 15 days from the TR visa

@Bruce **********
you don't lose the 15 days but you can't leave Thailand in those 15 days once you apply for the Non-O

Just to get it right in my head. The Non O would start at the end of the 60 Days on the TR ?
John **********
@Bruce **********
depends when you apply. You could get a 30 day extension to the tourist visa and apply while still having 15 days left on that extension. Might give you more breathing space too

Yes sorry

You can't leave Thailand in those 15 days, if you do you will have to start over again. Best to delay applying for the Non-O visa until you return from the wedding
