TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the process of obtaining a one-year visa extension for those holding a marriage visa (NON-O) in Thailand. It's noted that applicants typically need to demonstrate financial stability by maintaining either a balance of 400,000 baht in a Thai bank account for at least two months or showing a monthly income of at least 40,000 baht. Several users suggest visiting the local immigration office for detailed requirements and documents needed to apply for the extension.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.

, all you need is the birth certificate with your name on it at the thai consulates in Vientiane or Savannakhet, along with the mother's thai i/d and her house book listing.
They'll give you a 90 day single entry Non-O and you could extend that at the immigration office for 60 days as well based on visiting family.

that agent is gonna get you one of those "wink-n-nod", say-no-more, under the table visas :O Get caught having a visa in your passport you got by illegal means (not meeting the qualifications) and you will be in a world of hurt. I say that because seeing as you had a child out of wedlock you can't use that child to get a visa or an yearly extension of stay inside the country unless you go thru family court and get recognized as the legal father with parental rights.
Still a lot of people do it..

A agent told me she can do it in bkk for me without statement but it is expensive, current visa is non b and work permit finishes in January

Raising a child , name is on birth certificate not married. Are bank statements needed? What documents are required?

What is the reason for the Non-O based on dependent? Married to someone who legally works here, raising children, ??
Both Vientiane and Savannakhet only issue 90 day single entry visas based on being a dependent.

Okay you have a visa that you got because you were married to a thai, you don't have a marriage visa.
I would suggest you go to the immigration office in the area where you live and get the hand out that lists the documents and the financial requirements to get the yearly extension you are seeking.
At most immigration offices you can apply for the yearly extension when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp.
, I said that because it's a Non-Immigrant Type O visa <- O meaning other. It's issued for a variety of reasons, being over 50 (retirement), being married to a thai, being the spouse of someone who legally works here, raising children, etc.
There is no such animal as a marriage visa just like there is no such animal as a retirement visa. ..

It’s depend on nationality

Unless I'm mistaken a yearly extension of stay based on marriage to a thai national is not dependent on the nationality of the foreign husband. You meet the requirements and you get the extension no matter your nationality.
