TLDR : Answer Summary
It is possible to change an education visa to a marriage visa while in Thailand, but it depends on your current visa status. If you are still within the first 90 days of your education visa, the answer is no. However, if you are on an extension of stay based on education, you can cancel that extension and apply for a new extension based on marriage to a Thai national.

Not sure if applicable to you. I have done this inside Thailand: Non-imm "B" (initial 90 days stamp, not extension) - amnesty - Covid extension (multiple) - marriage to foreigner with work extension.

IF you are on the first 90 days of the ED visa the answer is NO.
However if you are on an extension of stay <- based on education you CAN cancel that extension and immediately apply for a new yearly extension based on marriage to a thai.
So the real question is; are you on an extension of stay based on education?
Thanks todd! no i am on my initial 90 days of ed visa…So if i am hearing you correctly, after the first 90days i could change it to marriage visa assuming i was married in that first 90 days?
Peter Salmon Do you have the required 400,000 Thai baht to bank in a Thai bank account in your own name ...to obtain a one year extension of stay as married to a Thai ?
nope, you're not getting ANY visa, and you can't switch the reason for your extension the first time, you have to get it for the reason you got the visa, SO that means you'd get one extension based on education and then AFTER you got that extension you could change the reason the next time to marriage to a thai by meeting the proof of funds, etc
No. AFTER you get the first extension of stay based on studying, you can return to the immigration office and apply for a one year extension of stay based on marriage (assuming you meet the requirements).
