Upon cancellation of my work permit and visa in May, I will get a spouse visa (visa non-F) from my husband’s work. Although normally I need to get it outside TH, I want to go to the immigration office to ask if this can be possibly done onshore, given the Covid-situation and that we registered TH as our permanent residence at the embassy here. My question is for situation like this, which immigration office shall I go if we are in Asok area? Many thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to cancel their work permit and apply for a spouse visa (Non-F) through their husband's work. They inquire about the possibility of processing this application onshore due to the Covid situation and their registered permanent residence in Thailand. They are seeking guidance on which immigration office to visit while located in the Asok area.

It sounds like your husbands employers really don't know what they're doing visa/extension wise with you. Why not have one of them go with you and your husband to the immigration office at Chaengwattana (if that's where your husband got his visa/extension) and see what the process is so you can get a yearly extension based on marriage to someone who legally works here?

I think if she has an Non-Imm F their office should also MOFA.... Immigration division 1 does not deal with that. If Non-Imm O that's a different story then is imm division 1

And by "spouse visa" (they don't give type F for that reason) do you mean you are married to a thai, OR you are married to a foreigner who legally works here on a long term visa/extension?

So basically, ask your husband to ask his office to deal with this issue for you as you are on a Non-Imm F linked to him

This is to say. I am a consultant for the UN I have a Non-imm F but - since I am not staff - my accompany family members is Non-Imm O. My work deals with all matters related to my visa (as is an F). My family's eals with immigration (as they are on a non-o). If they were non-imm F my office would also take care of everything related to them through the MOFA.

Hi all just to clarify. Non-imm F is basically a diplomatic visa given to staff that work for my UN and Embassies. If they are staff (not consultants) then their accompanying family members also get that same visa (instead of the Non-imm o). For the person that did the post the best is for your husband employer to ask that question as Non imm F visa are handled by the MOFA and not the normal immigration. Hope it helps

hi, Tod, thanks a lot for your quick reply. My visa has been cancelled this May, and I’m on amnesty currently. And yes, my husband is a foreigner who is working here for EU. That’s the visa I was told that I would get from his work.

@Vivian ******
, you would not, you would need to apply for ANY visa.

You would need to apply for a year extension based on being married to someone who works here on a long term extension.

I think the employer of your husband is confused.

I was recently told they Do issue spouses of people who work here the F category visa/extension,

BUT

because you had a Non-B visa/extension that you cancelled already and went on amnesty from you just need to apply for a new extension of stay based on marriage to a foreigner legally working here.

just to be aware, I work in Thailand with a Non-F extension of stay. My husband is my dependant and also has a Non-F extension of stay.

strange, but okay (y) Did your husband get his F visa/extension at Chaengwattana OR at Cham Churi Square (the BOI one stop service center)

we've been here almost 3years. He got his first Non-F visa in Kuala Lumpur. Each year we visit Chaengwattana for our extensions.

So did you already cancel your visa extension and work permit LAST May or you're going to do it NEXT May?
