What visa options are available in Thailand for transitioning from an expired immigrant F visa without leaving the country?

Hi all. Was recommended to post in here and see if anyone had any thoughts. I have been on an immigrant F visa and this expires 31 March. Once I get this cancelled I am looking to transition to something else. Wondering if people had any thoughts/advice on what visa may be possible at the moment (withought being told to leave the country). And also if it would be possible to do in Samui, if the initial stay permit was issued in BKK?

Thanks for any insights!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on transitioning from an immigrant F visa expiring on March 31 without leaving Thailand, and whether it's possible to handle this in Samui after the initial permit was issued in Bangkok. Comments suggest checking visa extension details and considering personal circumstances such as marriage to a Thai, which could inform suitable visa options.

Just to ask, is there any reason why you think you should stay here past March 31? For example, are you married to a Thai national, or a foreigner who's working in Thailand, or raising half-Thai children, or you're over 50, or other reasons like that? It'll help everyone try and figure out an option and any paperwork that might be needed (or you might need to collect before March 31).

that changes everything.

1. What visa did you use to enter Thailand?

2. Are you on an extension of stay (“the stamp”) and does it say “extension of stay based on employment “?

3. Are you planning on working for the same organization?

1. It was the same visa (non immigrant F)

2. No it doesn't say extension of stay based on emplyment. But was an extension of the same previous visa for a further 2 months (which was my initial end of contract date)

3. Same entity; but different organization. However, they will not help with visa. So i'm on my own..

That's *EXTREMELY* concerning. You can not work without a valid work visa (*BUT* I don't think you need a work permit with your visa). You can not work on a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

When you say they will not help with the visa, does that mean you're responsible for collecting the documents and going to immigration to get your visa, OR does it mean they won't give you any documents for the visa?

Look at your stamp in your passport, IF it says "extension of stay permitted until" then that means you'd need to go back to the office that issued the extension with paperwork from the place that sponsored you for the F type visa and cancel it BEFORE the 30th of March (the day that the ability to apply for 60 day covid extensions run out) and apply for that
