I'm currently holding a non-o volunteer visa issued from Chiang Mai immigration. As my volunteer/work contract terminates my current visa would be cancelled.
When my visa is cancelled would it revert automatically revert to a tourist? If it does would I be able to apply for covid-19 extension with an embassy letter?
My husband holds a non-b visa issued from Bangkok immigration. Would I be able to cancel my current visa and transfer to a non-o dependent visa at Bangkok immigration?
Thanks for your advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about transitioning from a non-o volunteer visa to a non-o dependent visa after their current visa is cancelled. They ask whether their visa will automatically default to a tourist visa upon cancellation, and if they can apply for a COVID-19 extension with an embassy letter. Additionally, they seek guidance on the process of switching visas while their husband holds a non-b visa.

i guess you have an Extension of Stay a big stamp from immigration in Chang Mai as you work and live there and you like to change to an Extension of Stay based on dependent of your husband working and living in Bangkok. Talk to the employer of your husband as they have to provide the supporting documents.
thanks for the info. Would I need to travel to Chiangmai to cancel my current visa first (I am in Bangkok at the moment) and then apply for dependent in Bangkok immigration? Or both can be done on Bangkok?
