What are my options for obtaining a spouse visa or other visas after my Non-B visa was canceled in Thailand?

Hi everyone. I need help in finding out what to do. I have been married to a Thai citizen for 15 years now and we have two children. I finished a work contract last July and my Non-B visa was canceled end of July as well. I am now on the amnesty visa. The immigration officer suggested me to apply for a "60 days extension for visiting family". Is there any other type of visa I could ask? Because the officer told me that for the spouse visa, I need to get out of the country. I don't trust them that much because they already misled me into cancelling my non b visa and apply for spouse visa later when, actually, if I am not wrong, I could apply directly for a spouse visa without going out of the country but now it is too late. What about a permanent residency visa? Thank you very much for your advice. Frederic

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on visa options after their Non-B visa was canceled. They are currently on an amnesty visa and were advised by immigration to apply for a 60-day extension for visiting family. However, they express distrust as they were informed that a spouse visa requires leaving Thailand, despite believing they could apply without exiting. A commenter shares a similar experience, successfully applying for a 60-day family visit visa before pursuing a marriage visa, suggesting it might be a viable option.

Same my case except I entered on a tourist visa and was on amnesty until 4 days ago.

At first I tried applying for a marriage visa but was told by my local immigration office it can only be done outside of Thailand but thanks to the advice from this group, I applied for a 60 day family visitation visa and will work on a marriage visa closer to the expiration of my 60 days.

See my earlier post what documents needed for a 60 day family visit visa.

Dali Dhamma You need to apply for an extension with the same reason for the first extension from the entry stamp on your visa.. From second extension or later, you can change the reason of extension.
