For some reason I thought it was possible to get a one year extension of stay on an O visa, for reason of marriage, with 2 months of 40,000 THB from abroad. I was told 12 months of 40,000 THB or 2 months of 400,000 THB (lump sum). Apparently I can still get a 60 day extension on my visa which expires soon, but only if I already had 400,000 THB to deposit in the bank, would I have enough time to season it before the 60 day extension expired.
Given that, I've got to find a plan B. Is it possible to get that 60 day extension of stay based on marriage, and then within the 60 days, find employment and then apply for an extension of stay based on employment? Also, is it possible to get an extension of stay based on caring for my two half-Thai children (is there a banking requirement for that)?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking options for extending their stay in Thailand on a non-O visa based on marriage but faces financial constraints. They inquire about the possibility of obtaining a 60-day extension for visiting family and later switching to an employment extension if they find work within that period. Additionally, they ask if they can get an extension based on caring for their half-Thai children and about the banking requirements for that.
