Can I extend my EVisa based on marriage to a Thai citizen and do I need to worry about the seasoning period?

ORIGINAL POSTER
I’ve recently arrived on an EVisa from the Uk for 90days with the aim of extending it to a non O based on marriage.

About to head out and 🤞open a bank account, I’ve checked on here that the 400k doesn’t need to come from abroad and it seems that it doesn’t, can we just confirm that’s still the case please ?

Also, if it all goes well the money would be seasoned for the required 2 months just 2 months and 4 days after arriving.

I don’t lose the extra 25 or so days by applying for my extension early do I ?

I also have 2 half Thai kids that have moved back with us. Does this mean I could apply for a different visa with no seasoning required or am I best off with marriage extension ?

Many Thanks as always

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on extending their EVisa from the UK to a Non-O visa based on marriage. They inquire about bank account requirements, specifically the 400K THB requirement, the seasoning period of funds, and the possibility of applying for a different visa due to having half-Thai children. Responses confirm that the 400K does not need to come from abroad and can be sourced locally, and reassured that applying early for the extension does not affect their stay duration. They also learn that the first extension must align with the initial visa's reasons.

I believe that the OP has the answers to his question. We wish him success in obtaining his Non O Visa as Married to Thai and the one year extension of stay as Married to Thai.

Thanks all for the helpful replies.

Also if you need more time b4 applying for the 1yr extention you get a 2month extention to your 90 non o visa for visiting family and children

Funds MUST be in your account 2 months before the date that you apply for the 1yr extension.

Fund requirements for a 1-year extension based on marriage to a Thai in police order don't include "international transfer". Your banked money has to be in your Thai bank account for two months (day-to-day) as of your application date for a 1-year extension, not the last day of the initial 90 days. The best is getting the latest handout for requirements from your local immigration office.

You have to apply for the first extension for the same reason as your Non-O visa. You can change the reason for an extension for then second application or later.

Q. the 400k doesn’t need to come from abroad and it seems that it doesn’t, can we just confirm that’s still the case please ?

-> No international transfer requirement in the police order. But better to check with your local office.

Q. I don’t lose the extra 25 or so days by applying for my extension early do I ?

-> funds has to be seasoned for two months as of applicaiton date. You don't lose any day if you apply for an extenison earlier as extenison is added (top-up) to your current stamp.

Q. Does this mean I could apply for a different visa with no seasoning required or am I best off with marriage extension ?

-> honestly, it depends on what written on your visa, but as a general rule, you HAVE TO apply for the first extension for the same reason as your initial visa.

This is general information for an extension based on being spouse to a Thai. As mentioned above, you need to get the latest requirements from your local office.
