Can I request a 1-year visa extension if my funds are newly deposited due to COVID restrictions?

Hi guys, I have a question regarding extensions. I was on a multi-entry visa based on having a Thai wife. I extended that based on visiting family and then did a 60-day extension based on 'unable to travel due to COVID'. Now, I have reached 400,000 baht in my account on 27 December. Visa due for renewal on 22 Jan. My question is this... Can I ask for a 1-year extension and hope they allow me a kind of under consideration? Or is this too long to let the money season, meaning another ‘COVID’ extension to give enough time?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks advice on the viability of applying for a 1-year visa extension based on a recent deposit of 400,000 baht in their bank account prior to their visa due date. The community advises that the funds must meet a 2-month seasoning requirement for a marriage visa extension and suggests applying for an alternative 60-day extension due to COVID restrictions to allow the funds to season.

and try to get the 60 days unable to travel extension BEFORE 29th of January, because we and nobody knows what will be after this date and if it will be still possible

There's no give on the "2 month seasoning requirement" for extensions based on marriage so the soonest you could apply for a yearly extension would be on March 1st (Feb 27th, the actual date your funds would be seasoned is a Saturday :/ )

Get another 60 day unable to travel due to covid extension before your current stamp runs out. That should buy you the time you need to get the funds seasoned. Then go apply for the year extension after Mar 1st

I was about to post something similar then found this post. I’m in a pretty similar situation. Just want to ask, can I get a year extension on my now expired multi entry visa? Or have to apply for new visa in-country first?

as long as you're still on that original entry stamp (no matter if you went on amnesty, covid extensions etc) if you entered before the lock down on a Non-Imm visa entry and got 90 days you can apply for a year extension

The seasoning requirements for the 400K THB is 2 months. By chance, do you have half-Thai children? If you do, there is no seasoning requirements for the 400K THB.

hi Benjamin again. Can you just explain regarding half Thai children. I never heard that before. Thanks all the great help.

@Coilean ********
For foreigners who are raising half-Thai children, the requirements to get a

one year extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children

are similiar as the requirements to get a

one year extension of stay based on marriage

Except the money seasoning requirements are different. There is no seasoning requirements for the 400K THB if you are getting a

one year extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children

There is a *two month* seasoning requirement of 400K THB if you are getting a

one year extension of stay based on marriage

I don't have any kids, really I assume I just have to do the 2-month extension to give my money enough time to season. I just wanted to ask, I would hate to pay for an extension to then find out I could have had under consideration by showing the money!

You should be able to get another 60 day extension of stay due to unable to travel because of COVID-19 to let the money season for 2 months; and then you can apply for the one year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national.
