Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement to show the 400,000 baht for a one-year extension based on marriage does not mandate that the funds must be transferred from abroad. It can originate from either a local Thai bank transfer or deposits. Several commenters confirmed that there are no stipulations regarding the origin of the funds for both marriage and retirement extensions, emphasizing that funds can be sourced domestically or internationally.

One FINAL time people, there is no requirement to show funds origin for a yearly extension based on retirement OR marriage using banked money method. The funds can come from abroad OR from a domestic transfer.

The only one that I know where you show proof that the banked money funds came from abroad into a thai bank account in your name only is if you are getting the initial 90 day Non-O visa based on retirement issued at the immigration office inside the country.

Depends on which office you’re using. What office do you go to?

no it doesn’t. It’s not listed in the police order.

Each IO has their own interpretation of the police orders. For example, come to Chiang Mai and see for yourself! We have to bend over backwards…. AND forwards sometimes. 😉

that you LET an office/officer make you hoop jump does not mean that what they're trying to have you do is written in the police order concerning the extension you want to get.

the police order is clear. There is no requirements in the police order saying the money needs to be transferred overseas. If they say there is, ask to see the police order.

Dont think it matters where I comes from to be honest, I'm doing mine at the moment and there is nothing that states where the cash has to come from

I think that is for the non O based on retirement, but Todd who already commented would know more about that, for extension based on marriage it can come from anywhere 100%

that’s lovely. I have it in the bank for over a year. Thanks for your confirmation.

There is no requirement that you show the 400K baht banked money for either a non-O VISA or a year extension based on marriage came from abroad. It can be a local deposit or transfer if you want.

Thank you so much. It’s such a relief. My friend who just applied for extension just told me that the money MUST be transferred from abroad and I was so shocked.

@Sineymily **********
they are incorrect, An extension based on marriage to a thai OR an extension based on retirement has no requirement to show funds came from abroad when using banked money method for the proof of financials
