TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the possibility of a foreigner (Farang) married to a Thai citizen living without the need for 90-day reporting or check-ins in Thailand. Comments reveal that 90-day reporting is a requirement unless the foreigner obtains Permanent Residency or citizenship, which can exempt them from such obligations. Although navigating the process can be document-intensive and time-consuming, attaining Permanent Residency or citizenship is possible. Ultimately, there is no way to avoid reporting without qualifying for these more permanent statuses.

Hands down this is the best stuff written about acquiring Permanent Residency status here in thailand. It is a LONG thread, so read the beginning then go to the back and read from the latest entries.

It is NOT a hard process, it is a time consuming, document intensive one BUT it is not beyond the ability of people who qualify for it.

I just want to point out that you do not need a VISA for 3 consecutive years, you must have 3 years of Extensions of stay and be paying taxes.
