I am an Australian on a non-o visa (Thai Spouse), living in Chiang Rai with my Thai family. I am in a rural area about 60 klms from the CR Immigration office.

My wife is able to report that an "alien" is/has stayed at our house at the local police station.

Can I do a "Check In" for myself at the police station as well?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster, an Australian on a Non-O visa residing in Chiang Rai, asks if they can personally check in at the local police station for immigration reporting purposes, as their wife can report their stay. A commenter clarifies that while the wife can submit a TM.30 form at the police station to report the foreigner’s stay, the foreigner must fulfill the 90-day reporting requirement separately, either in person at the immigration office, by mail, or online.

I was told that I have to leave Thailand every 90 days on a Spouse Visa and now I see this post regarding Check In/ Reporting. ...confused...

Problem is that people use the name Spouse Visa and that could be different kinds of Visa or even an Extension of Stay you got from Local Immigration. If you have the actual Visa sticker in your passport valid for 1 year than you have to leave Thailand every 90 days. But next to this some immigration offices want you to report your private address every time you went abroad. So a border run and than on return report your address with the TM30 form.

Your wife IS allowed to use the local police station to file a TM.30 form stating you (a foreigner) is staying at the residence.

BUT

You are not able to use the police station for your 90 day reporting. You either do it in person, see if Chiang Rai accepts mail in 90 day reporting or if the participate in the online 90 day reporting program.

, thank mate. So the so called "check in" is the TM.30 and you think I may be able to do that at the local police station? Suppose I can try anyway. 🤔🤔

@Stephen ******
That's the TM.30 form. That one can be done at the police station if there is no immigration office in your area (although they don't specify what area an area is) :/

Thanks Todd, I was referring to the "Check In' we have to do now after returning to Thailand on a re-entry permit. We enter our address on the arrival card when we return but still have to "Check In" (report that we are back) to our local immigration within 24hrs. :(
