Can I get my 60-day stamp changed to a 90-day stamp for my Non-O visa after entering Thailand?

I have just completed a visa run at Pedang Besar in the south of Thailand.

I have returned on my multiple entry Non-O visa. I am on the bus and maybe 1 hour away and I have noticed they have only stamped me in for 60 days and not 90 days.

It was silly of me not to check. Last time I noticed but today my mind was somewhere else.

Will I be able to get the stamp changed at another immigration office in Nakhon Si Thammarat or Phuket or “it is what it is” ?

Many thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster recently completed a 'visa run' to renew their multiple entry Non-O visa but was stamped in for only 60 days instead of the expected 90 days. They inquired if they could rectify this stamp error at a local immigration office in Nakhon Si Thammarat or Phuket. The community responded mainly pointing out that corrections for stamp errors made at land borders typically need to be fixed at the issuing border, and advised the poster to be more vigilant about checking stamps upon entry. It was also noted that Non-O visas usually grant a 90-day stay, and emphasized the importance of checking entry stamps meticulously.

This is very good lesson for everyone to check stamps whenever they enter Thailand. It is the first thing I do on entry. Count the days and check the date.

It is. The last time I passed back from Cambodia they did the same and I had them change it. Unfortunately my mind was somewhere else and I didn’t realise until I was too far away.

Yes. I didn't man to sound like a smarty pants ;) But it is a good lesson, especially at land borders.

You only get 60 days on a multi trip visa, it can then be extended a further 30 days at a local immigration centre for a fee, then you have to do a border bounce and start the whole process again

, You are mixing Non-immigrant type visas and Tourist visas. OP has Non-O and it gives you 90 days on entry, not 60 days. Entries on Non-immigrant visas are NOT eligible for a 30-day tourism extension.

@Ellie ******
yes Biff just told me that

he has a Non-O. Unlike a tourist visa, this type of visa gets a 90 day stamp on each entry.

@Biff ******
Oh sorry, how do you get one of those then ?

there are a few different types of Non-O for different reasons. You can see the criteria on the Thai embassy websites.

Next bounce you might consider flying from Phuket to KL. There’s a morning flight and an evening return. Costs about the same and gives you a day in KL plus, if you get the wrong stamp on the way back you can fix it in Phuket. Has to be better than sitting in a van all day.

I’m at our home outside of Nakhon Si Thammarat at the moment.

The border is less than 3 hours in a mid sized bus. I’ve taken the car a few times but the bus is a lot easier.

They drop me off at my front door at a cost of ฿420 for the round trip.

I will return to my home in Phuket in the next week or so.

But thank you all the same for your advice. Next time I will definitely consider flying out and enjoying a few days away.

Sorry. I’m not very good at the terminology.

That’s OK, I thought it probably would be that way. No problem. I’ll do the next border bounce 30 days earlier. It was a terrible date anyway. Possibly a blessing.

Thank you.

You're out nothing by going to the office and seeing if they can do anything, I mean the worst they'll say is NO go back to the border..

I think I will try next time I’m in town to see what they say. Thank you.

I think what you really did was a "border bounce" (you didn't go BUY a visa, just bounced out and back to get a new 90 day stamp)

Be that as it may

Sadly for you NO you cannot

Bad stamps at LAND entries cannot be corrected at immigration offices but only the border that issued it 😕

You're out nothing by trying at your immigration office but I would say NO you're gonna slog back to get it corrected :(
