looks like $15 000 or equivalent has to be on the bank account of each person who want to have this tourist visa and so for the last pas 6 months, which is ridiculous

because it cost 600 000thb :-)

Is this whole heavy process still on at the moment?

1. Contact your local Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate with the intention to book

a repatriation flight that is available and to start the process.

2. Foreigners are required to book an Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) The Ministry

of Public Health has joined hands with private companies to provide Alternative State

Quarantine accommodations to people who have

returned from abroad and would like to have special services, at their own expense,

during the quarantine. People returning from foreign countries must be detained to

observe any possible symptoms for 14 days at the state quarantine facilities

or at the Alternative State Quarantine hotels, where guests are responsible for

the cost themselves.

3. A Fit to fly certificate as well as a Covid-19 test within 72 hours of your flight.

4. Health insurance that covers the treatment of Covid-19, as well as other diseases,

for the amount of 100,000 USD.

5. Submit all the required documents, contact the Thai Embassy, They will

process the applications and forward to Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok

for its consideration and decision. If approved, the Embassy will issue the

Certificate of Entry (COE) to the approved applicant. The applicant will have

to obtain Fit to Fly Health Certificate and COVID-19 free certificate (Lab test)

as part of their documents to

enter Thailand. Then reserve a seat on a flight.

6. When you arrive you will be separated from the repatriated Thai’s and brought

to a specific ASQ area. This will involve a special

check-in and arrangement of ASQ transportation.

7. While in quarantine one will have two Covid-19 tests. Assuming they are negative,

one will be released on day fourteen.

8. Although free to travel Thailand at this point one is expected

to have a specific application on your phone for tracking, please provide

your agenda to authorities, and be subject

to possible further medical testing.
