Please note that only Thai people can have few citizenships. But foreigner are obliged to cancel his first citizenship. Applicant must pass state exam for Thai language. Quotas are for PR only. Thailand is Kingdom, not respublic. Anycase applicant must confirm how he is useful for Thailand. And why his native passport is not so good for him.

I do this 5 years. Yes, you are right. First few years I had 1-year Non-O with multi-reentry from Savannaket, Laos (visa-run every 90 days).

Keep your retirement visa. The best. Yes you can be married but if you do not plan to work (Non-O marriage + work permit) it is better to stay independent. Not necessary to divorce to out foreign husband. It is enough not to visit Immugration together with husband: no wife - no visa.

I am married with Thai 8 years. It is a sponsor visa and every year we have same procedure to confirm incomes and real co-living. To be honest even Thailand Elite visa is much better and cheaper for foreigners below 50 y.o.
