Thanks! But man, I had two Colombian gf's in the 1990s. They are too aggressive for me. (I'm a nice, refined Canadian dude (kinda like that Brandon kid on 90dayFiance. Anyway, I can't wait to go, it really does have it all (kinda like Thailand). Thx.

What? How dare you accuse a New Yorker of being poor? Do you not understand how materialistic we are? It's the worst thing you could say to one of us. FYI, my ASQ was at Anantara Pool Villa Resort ($8,000 paid in full). Doesn't that kinda qualify as rich? Actually, you are probably right...they won't miss me: the deposit was 100% non-refundable (I'm not kidding btw, still can't believe I paid it....problem is that NYC detiorates intelligence over time-& I've been there off/on since the late 80s! ). But you are 100% right about Thai's new tourism focus. I have mixed feelings. On one hand, being able to visit a country for a few months should be a fundamental right. Especially since Thailand is so perfect for backpacking. On the other hand, there are a lot of lowlife Farangs who are unwelcome in there own country & used long stay visas to pollute Thailand. But its wrong to block long stay tourist just because some of them are lowlifes. Anyway, I'll be back in April '21...I love Thailand (actually just Phuket, but whatever).

Ya. I not one of them. But I want to me. Don't you wish you partied every night in your life before COVID?!

I am not offended by your remark. I know that there are a lot of young people who couldn't care less if they spread COVID since it only affects old people. As for me specifically: I can't prove to you over FB that I am an extremely empathetic person. I would never put anybody in jeopardy. 2. I don't know you. But I know some people are unduly afraid of COVID & "need" the peace of mind that Lockdowns & travel restrictions provide regardless of their efficacy. Or maybe you are a retired virologist with an extensive background in statistics and Brownian mathematics. But I suspect that we can ALL agree that unless a country is willing to do what China did in Q2 2021...lesser restrictions don't seem to work (based on my town of NYC -most severe, longest lockdowns worldwide, yet highest infection rates. Why not trust that I am a good boy who will use his head!

HI Todd, nice to hear from you again. I am one of those "ScArY Asymptomatic people that the world fears. I have never had a cold or flu in my life (mom was same way). So, COVID & other avian/swine agents don't scare me. Plus, everywhere has much higher COVID than Thailand. Thx.

Hi, Yes I heard. But I am not looking for a "no-lockdown fantasy land". I simply want to get out of NYC's severe, no-end-in-sight lockdown. I can handle Colombia's version, no problem. The Thai version scares me only because I could be trapped in BKK (which I hate) & unable to get to Phuket (which I love). Thx for info.

Really? Thx! Surprising since I was f*cked up on ganga/alcohol when I wrote it. I'm a full time writer, maybe I should do it more often.

Question About Mexico: When a fellow Canadian told me that Canada was #5 on the list of "World's Easiest Countries to Emigrate to" I had to verify it & while doing so, I was shocked to see Mexico was #1. I asked a Mexican dude I know & he says they want USA/Euro cash BIG TIME. But I don't know anything about Mexico & just took his word for it. If you have a moment can you please tell me what problems they are having with American retirees. Very curious.

Yes, everybody with a decent bank account is leaving Canada & USA once their kids get into college. The cost of living is ridiculous. Canada is nationwide nightmare. In USA: years ago, NYC was the only ridiculously expensive place. Now its expensive everywhere: Seattle, LA, Boston, Atlanta -not worth it. Florida was kinda Ok prior to COVID, but all the rich people left NYC during the lockdown and now its f*cking expensive. Zero hotel rooms avail. Please stand by for an unrelated question:

What? You must fight on! Nothing will stop me. Here's an example: did I mention that the NY Thai Consulate lost my Cdn. passport & green card? Didn't bother me a bit. I'll apply for a new one on Monday and be in Colombia on Jan 18.
