Not trying to be negative. But I have finally realized that although Thailand is in my heart, it just ain't worth it. Instead, I have finally come to my senses and will go to Columbia for 2 months to wait out Thai lockdowns....then I'll come.
ATTN: PHUKET LOVERS! I LEFT OUT THIS DETAIL IN MY ORIGINAL POST: My biggest concern is completing my ASQ in BKK, but then not be allowed to enter Phuket. Which is a problem because to me Thailand = Phuket. I'm not a Bangkok dude at all.
I tried very hard to make my move in Jan. '19, but when I realized that Columbia requires a PCR test with no quarantine & no complicated visa. What really pushed me over was that Columbia is alive: there is still lots of nightlife and lots of people on beaches.
So, if you have a girlfriend or a business then go to Thailand. For the rest of us, I think its too early &, like I said, not worth it.
I sincerely thank the admins of this excellent group along with people who gave me advice that I need to get my insurance, book my ASQ, etc.
See y'all in early April & remember: NYC has proven Lockdowns don't work.
TLDR : Answer Summary

They mention plans to temporarily move to Colombia, which offers easier entry requirements and a vibrant atmosphere, contrasting it with Thailand's current state. The exchange in the comments features multiple opinions on the best travel options during the pandemic, with some advocating for patience and others suggesting alternate destinations like Mexico or Colombia due to Thailand's complexities.
