Can I extend my Non-O visa in Thailand, and will I be able to get another Non-O visa after traveling?

Hi

I arrived on Aug 1, 2021 via Sandbox on a Non-O visa. I plan to go to imaggo in Phuket on Friday to get a 90 day extension.

Questions:

1. Will they extend it?

2. If they do, the 90 day extension will expire in February 2022. I would love to go on a ski trip to B.C. Rockies. So, if I leave Thailand in Feb 2022 and return 2 weeks later, will they grant me another non-O visa?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster arrived in Thailand on a Non-O visa and is seeking a 90-day extension. Comments from the community clarify that the extension cannot be for another 90 days but can be a 60-day extension. They also mentioned that there's no limit on reapplying for a Non-O visa, meaning the poster can potentially obtain a new Non-O visa after traveling if they meet the necessary requirements, including maintaining the required funds in a Thai bank account.

As others have said you apply for one year extension with money seasoned 2 months previous to your application date, there is no 90 day extension.

Basically if you entered on a type O 90 day visa, you can only extend it one year in-country by meeting all the requirements. If it is not a retirement visa you could change it to a 60 day visiting family extension, or a 60 day covid extension, but from my knowledge you can not extend it for another 90 days, and as mentioned Friday is a holiday.

1. Years ago, while in Jamaica, the locals nicknamed me"Cool Breeze". It was the second best nickname I ever had. 2. Ok, got it: No 90, but 60 day is possible. 3. Thanks. I'll go tomorrow instead of Friday. 4. I am sorry to report that I'll soon be 50 years old. I have the cash no problem, but I don't meet the "keep it in a Thai bank for 2 months" requirement. But it is in crypto, so I can easily deposit it now (I have a Thai bank account already). I guess I'm trying to avoid the shame of being over 50 (well, over 40..really-that's the worst age ever!). 6. I need to rephrase my question (I'll edit my question, but here it is: What I meant to ask is "If I leave Thailand in January 2022 and I re-enter, can I get a new OA visa? Or do I have to wait another 12 months/whatever. Last: THANKYOU VERY MUCH for the detailed response! Regards, Carlo

tomorrow is also a holiday. Make it next Monday, and there should be no problem getting the same visa you have now when you return. There is no limit on them.

I think there are fortune tellers who can tell you about the future. Choose the same one the politicians use....

Nobody can predict what the Thai government will do they give hints a week in advance, sometimes.

1.The "fortune teller" you are referring to is very real. And widely available online or any library: search for "The Prince" by Macchiavelli (its all in there). 2.Thanks for the support. I sense you have suffered - sorry. But it could be worse: you could have been born in the Premier League of Gov't Idiocy/Corruption: Canada.

Non-O and Non-OA are 2 different visas, with very different requirements.

1. It sez "O" category. 2. I hope you enjoyed staying around Karon/Kata. I wonder if you will miss Phuket's beaches?

Michael! Nice to hear from you again! Its an O visa...supposedly for retirement. (But I told the NYC lawyer who got it for me that "I want a long stay visa" I thought that's what I had!).

do you have

0 baht in Bank, thats one of the requirements for a non O visa extension. Without that money in the bank in Thai Bank in your name your not getting an extension.

If its OA you just need to do 90 day reporting.

Might help showing us a picture to make sure, but blank out all the bits like passport number and the bottom barcode.

When you entered what date is stamped there for entry till

Hi, I have cash in crypto no problem. The problem is that I hear that it has to be in a Thai bank account for 2 months. I only recently managed to open a Thai Bank account (what a NIGHTMARE!!....I even had to wear a mask). So, I think I will try for a covid extension 60 day). Regards,
