I had another question. We are planning on taking your advice, but our flight out of Thailand is 60 days from our arrival. Do I need to have an outbound flight within that 45-day period? Or if I tell immigration that I am planning on renewing will they still let me in with my existing outbound flight?

We're staying for 60 days, which is why we're applying for the tourist visa. I have read that applying for the e-visa makes more sense because it's less of a hassle than renewing while we are in Thailand.
