I found this online, it doesn't say anything about needing an authenticated diploma for the initial Non-B Visa (for teaching). Can anybody confirm this?
After an email back 'n forth with the US Consulate in Bangkok, they confirmed that they no longer do such authentications, etc. I tried to see them today in order to get it straight from the horses mouth, but after making an appointment, they wouldn't let me in because I had my laptop with me! Ha! Live 'n learn: do not even take a phone to the US Embassy in Bangkok! In a last-ditch effort, I went to the Thailand MFA, but it was another resounding NO -- without a US Embassy stamp first. Apearantly, at one time they cooperated on issues like this, but not anymore. I will have to return back to the US and have it done at the Thai Embassy there. The trip to bangkok wasn't a total waste, for at least my border run to Cambodia was successful. Now, back to Pattaya to see what my new employer thinks of all of the above!
