A friend of mine went to Hull consulate for the 60 day tourist visa as he has done for 20years +and was totally unprepared for the conditions required now, so he walked away. He will now come on a 30day exempt stamp and then extend for another 30 day stay. So if you only need to stay 60days that is the best option.
This is Just what I expected, I certainly won't be applying for any visa for Thailand in the UK, if I decide to come back to Thailand it will be on a 30 day exempt stamp. Sad really as I have a house, car moto bike etc, up for sale now. Time to move on I'm afraid.
Not the best border to enter Cambodia as they will ask for 1500 bht or $40 for the $30 visa + the 20bht health check scam, good job you intend to stay a few days there as you would also be asked by the Cambodian immigration for another 300+bht for a in- out turn around. Don't worry about being asked if you have 20,000 bht on you when you return as they never ask , Thai immigration are friendly at this border, speaking from 12 years of experience there.
Don't go to Phnom Penh for a tourist visa, notoriously difficult and may even give you one then put a void stamp on it, Laos, HCMC Vietnam or KL Malaysia is your best bet.
no it's not. They make em up day by day. Seriously though, Thai immigration is so inconsistent. Needs addressing but not gonna happen. And some posters knock others who criticize the Thailand.
