John Nielson Sure they do. Then you tell them you’re going for a 30 day extension. Then they see your return ticket for that date.

Larry Wheeler We do it the way you describe it every year for the last 4. It’s not disrespectful at all. The Thai immigration and the airlines understand this is what is required to stay in Thailand for 3 months. The only time people have trouble is when they try to skirt the Thai rules. This is a Thailand immigration rule and if you follow the rules, you will be able to stay.

months in the south islands, Krabi area, and the Gulf of Thailand. We spend all year booking our hotels. We return to some that we have been for many years. We’ve spent five weeks on one island in Krabi province and two weeks on another on the other side in the Gulf. We try to travel to a few different places each year to see something new. If you would like to message. I could help you more if needed? I’m guessing in total we have stayed over the years 100 different hotels or resorts.

Check with the airline first then. This is our 3 rd or 4 year staying for 4 months ( 1 month in Vietnam). Only missed 2 years since 2014. Never had a problem, because we have a return ticket. Sitting at the Hyatt Bangkok. Vancouver bound tomorrow.

John Nielson We have done this every year. The airlines know you can extend the visa another 30 days. Is there anyone answering this question ? That has actually done what the person is asking. We have for the last three years, and never a problem. Always a breeze at immigration and never a problem at YVR airport.

We are Canadian have travelled to Thailand 10 times over the last 12 years. The last three years we have stayed for three months. We have never had a problem at our airport in Vancouver, or a problem in Thailand. They can see our return ticket and they know we’re going for an extension.

It's not the Thais, it's the airline at your airport. My wife even checked with the airline in advance. Like I said we've already done this twice. They can see your return ticket. Last year Air Canada and the person at the check in knew we were getting an extension.
