I just did a large Swift transfer last week. $25k. And it cost $75 total. Both ends. And you are assuming I do an immediate currency exchange, which i don't. I have benefited greatly from currency fluctuations over the past few years.
It costs me approx. $20 net more per transaction and I do it only 1 or 2 times per year. Not huge. The photo is required at all banks and I need it for some domestic transfers as well.
But I can not use Krungsri with Wise over 50,000b. If I was concerned about the small exchange rate variance, I can use other banks. I have an SCB baht account. I favor Krungsri for many other reasons.
Thailand regulatory issues seem to have driven most banks, that are not 100% Thai owned, out of retail banking here. HSBC, Standard Charteted, Citibank.
