I have owned a property in Thailand for 15 years, where I propose staying, and have recently applied for a Non O , single entry 90 day visa, in order to apply for a Retirement Visa.

The Embassy is asking for additional paperwork, a Note Verbale or an Invitation letter, can anyone please explain where an invitation letter comes from?

UPDATE:

I received the e-Visa just 3 hours after submitting the Invitation Letter. Had my wife write/sign/date, included copy of her Thai ID and pages from family house book.

Re: Non-O e-Visa, I received an email from the Los Angeles embassy requesting an Invitation Letter from Immediate Family.

I searched the group for “invitation letter”, and while I found helpful posts, none I found seem to match my situation.

My wife has been living with me in the USA for 10 years, and now we are moving to Koh Samui. We will be renting at first, but do not yet have an address. Her family is in Khong Chiam (Ubon).

Any suggestions on how to write the letter? From my wife and hotel or friend’s address? From family in Ubon and their address?

I submitted it last week and I just got an email from The consulate asking for an “INVITATION LETTER” from my immediate Thai family, ie spouse, mother in law, whatever. So has anyone heard of this invitation letter and if so what is the best way to have my wife write it so it will be accepted by them? Thanks in advance! 🙏🙏🙏

if my Thai friend has no tenancy/rental agreement document then how can I upload it as part of the invitation letter? They are not the property owner so have no house registration document.
