I'm considering moving to thailand for a year. I have a pension that pays me enough to qualify for the LTR wealthy pensioner visa from what I understand. Do you have to be 50 years old to qualify for this? I'm 41, if this disqualifies me, are there other options to stay for around a year to see if I want to stay longer? Visa runs, muay thai visa, enroll my daughter in school etc. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi. I am a US citizen preparing the document package to apply for an LTR Wealthy Pensioner visa. Does anyone know if they require me to submit my complete tax returns (IRS 1040), which would include much personal information including social security numbers, or just the relevant tax forms which document my qualifying income, that is 1099 forms (1099 SSA, 1099R, etc)?

For those on the "LTR wealthy pensioner visa" (not the regular retirement visa), who used dividents as passive income, did you have to prove you got the 80k USD a year over several years or is the current year enough?

Hi all, my head is swimmimg. I’m considering flying to Chiang Mai next month from Saigon where I’ve been working. I’m a citizen of USA, 64 years old, single. Monthly pension of approx 178,000 THB.

I did not start this process in USA, is it feasible to expect that I can start and finish a long term visa while in Thailand? Specifically while there on the 45 day tourist visa with 2 30 day extensions?

Really conflicted at this point because Mexico is an option with much simpler visa process.

All advice greatly valued and appreciated!

Thank you.
