TLDR : Answer Summary
The BOI Long Term Resident Visa for wealthy pensioners requires applicants to demonstrate a minimum of $80,000 USD in passive income, which can be derived from sources such as pensions, investments, dividends, rentals, and royalties. Specific questions about facets such as Veteran’s Compensation or FERS retirement were deemed not relevant to the application process.
LONG TERM RESIDENT (LTR) VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Neither is relevant to the application process. You simply need to demonstrate $80k USD in passive income. Pension, investment, dividends, rentals, royalties etc.
it is indeed that simply. You need to prove to them $80k income by any of the means i mentioned. If your income is non-taxable, the obviously they won't see it on a tax return will they?? They are not going to take your word for it. So you need to supply the statements from FER's in addition to the tax and clearly demonstrate to them the non-taxable portion. It's even easier for them in that case, as long as you supply the correct documents.
I have a somewhat similar situation although the origin of the govt pensions are Canadian vice american. They accepted the statements that indicated over $80k quite clearly even with having to do currency exchange rates. They never required tax returns as a result.
I gave them above and beyond what they asked for. I’m frustrated they asked for tax returns which don’t show the full extent as the veterans benefits are not taxable and therefore aren’t on my taxes 🤦🏻♂️
