For those of you who applied for DTV in Malaysia, and got approved, did you guys really have 6 months minimum tenancy/ lease agreement in Thailand?
If I am unsure of how long i want to stay in Thailand, doesnโt seem feasible to have this information for the DTV application right?
Were u guys all sure about how long you were gonna stay in Thailand?
Or do you guys have other ways to go about this?
Please advise. ๐๐ป Iโd appreciate it a lot.
Note: I can only apply my DTV from Malaysia.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV application requires a minimum six-month tenancy or lease agreement in Thailand. However, past applicants indicate that while documentation is necessary for the visa, there may not be subsequent checks on residency. If uncertain about a long-term stay, alternatives such as a multi-entry visa with border runs every 60 days may be more suitable. Some have suggested using a temporary address like an Airbnb for the DTV application.
If you aren't sure about staying in Thailand for long term you might want to apply for a multi entry visa instead, available for 6 months and border run every 60 days (or 90 if you extend at immigration)
For the dtv form you only need a temporary address, just book a cheap Airbnb/hotel

Why do u want to apply for a 5yr visa when u are not sure if u want to stay in thailand long term? Many are already staying in thailand long term with border runs until they are being pulled aside and warned them of getting a proper visa

They want to see the papers, that's all. Once you get the visa, nobody's gonna check whether you live in the place you stated on your visa application or not. The embassy in Malaysia has the reputation of being really strict, I wouldn't f*** around with their requirements but f
