TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the best visa options for staying in Thailand for an extended period. Participants suggest various visas including the Special Tourist Visa (STV), Retirement Visa, Educational Visa for language classes, and Thai Elite Visa. Opinions vary, with some having had positive experiences with the STV, while others recommend exploring educational options or considering a Retirement Non-O Visa due to changing regulations. There is also a humorous suggestion about marrying for a visa.

Elite Visa if you have the money. Education visas are decent too.

I did the Tourist Visa recently.. So far its been a hell of mess. If I had to do it all over again I would have done the STV.

Down side to the STV is that it can't be converted to a different visa.
