What happens if you are denied entry at Thai airports?

If a person is rejected entry at a Thai airport, they are typically sent to a holding room at the airport where they may incur a fee (around THB800 a night). The responsibility for resolving the situation lies with the airline, which will work to fix the passenger's flight to their home country or another location. The immigration authorities retain the person's passport until the airline is able to send them to check-in, after which the flight crew will hold the passport until the destination is reached.
