TLDR : Answer Summary
If a person is rejected entry at a Thai airport, they are typically sent to a holding room at the airport where they may incur a fee (around THB800 a night). The responsibility for resolving the situation lies with the airline, which will work to fix the passenger's flight to their home country or another location. The immigration authorities retain the person's passport until the airline is able to send them to check-in, after which the flight crew will hold the passport until the destination is reached.

you will be send to the holding room at Airport, THB800 a night. In the meantime airline will fix your flight. It is up to airline and the countries to where they send or which country will accept you. Immigration has no say in this situation. Once this is settled (BTW passport stay with Immigration til the airline staff send you to check in n than the flight crew keep passport till your destination). All in all a humilitating process as they treat you like a criminal.
