Are Thai immigration officers checking the TDAC at airports after May 1st?

ORIGINAL POSTER
Are they checking the TDAC at the airports? I've seen a few posts and comments saying IOs are at best just glancing at the TDAC QR code but not scanning it. Some posts even said they were waived through without having done the TDAC. For those who arrived after May 1st, what's been your experience? Is the TDAC being strictly enforced? Just to add: I'm NOT advocating for NOT filling it out: I'm just asking about IO attitude towards it.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among travelers arriving in Thailand after May 1st is that immigration officers are checking the TDAC indirectly through the passport scanning system rather than asking for physical proof like the QR code or email. Many users reported that once their passport is scanned, the system indicates whether they have completed the TDAC, leading some travelers to be waved through without a direct check. However, there are instances where non-compliance with the TDAC results in travelers being sent back to complete it before proceeding to immigration. Some airlines also enforce the requirement prior to boarding.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Yes they check it. I had to do it at Suvarnabhumi a couple of days ago, at 1 am. My phone died but luckily they have some machines to do it and it doesn't take much time at all to fill the form. The immigration officer knows whether you've done it when they check your passport in their system.

take less time do the qr than así about this 😂

I filled mine out and didn't need to show them anything. I assume, like other countries, once they scan your passport it tells them if you've completed one or not.

I arrived in bkk 2 days ago. At least 10 people infront and around me were sent away by immigration officers to fill it out at the back of the line. So many older tourists were confused why they were told to leave the desk.

My son arrived back in bkk a week ago was asked by the airline in hong kong before boarding to show proof of tdac

The very fact you are asking these questions all pointing towards not filing it out…

if the question is: Are Thai Immigration Officers asking to physically see the email from TDAC or the TDAC QR Code on your mobile phone or a hard copy printout, then the answer is not necessarily:

Because, there is the scenario where a traveler fills out their TDAC on the kiosks/tablets/computer at the Port of Entry upon landing or on arrival and perhaps you might jot down the confirmation code provided....

However, everyone needs a properly filled out TDAC that matches the information in their passport. If there is any mis-match among information between the TDAC and your passport, then you will need to fill out/submit a new TDAC

I completed mine. I handed over my passport and had my phone in my hand and told the IO I have the TDAC here. She had already scanned my passport. She said "no need' and pointed at the screen. The queue for people at the terminals to complete one was longer than the immigration queue. People were sent back if not complete. They were asked by staff before joining the immigration queue. Some airlines will not let you board without TDAC completed.

The immigration officer didn’t look at mine but I assume he checks it via passport number online

They "check" it at the moment they swipe your passport, and the system tells them everything is OK.
Brandon ************
They're not checking it because it's associated with your passport and they see it as soon as they scan your passport. If it doesn't come up when they scan you passport, then you'll run into issues.

Just follow instructions..

Once they scan your passport the system checks if you have a DTAC. Basics of a database
