I am applying for DTV but I have been using 2 different accounts in the same bank. One for receiving salary (I dont touch the money in it), and the other one is daily interest account that I am able to spend money in it anytime, which I use my daily spending from. This is an interest account but i am able to use the money (Almost all the money goes to interest on 5pm and comes back with the interest on 2am, everyday). The total amount of 2 accounts is a bit higher than the requested 500k baht. May I show the both accounts' trancastions to prove the money requirement? Also I am able to receive a document from my bank showing the total amount in the bank, including all of my accounts in the bank. So in this case, I have to show the embassy 3 different documents: (1) the salary account's transactions, (2) the daily (interest) account transactions, and (3) the total money proof in the bank.. I am hoping this doesn't make the embassy staff confused. 😀
As i will be arriving on a Non O in December, i am using an agent in Pattaya to open a bank account. Requires Passport, visa, SIM registered in my name, and hotel booking. (Booked 5 days but said I only need 2-3)
Then return to my wifes village in Buriram and we have booked a homestay for 3 months as we are still looking for land to build s small house.
For the 12 months extension based on marriage, has anyone done something similar to this?
I guess for retirement wisas this kind of option is more common as foreigners cannot own a house but instead only have rental as an option?
Anyone familiar with this coming from the Us should be able to help.
I’ve been told the move to stay in Thailand is to apply for the DTV visa, full stop. The issue of course is that you need 500,000 baht average in a bank account (checking /savings) for 90 + days.
I have a brokerage account with the amount but from what I understand, that doesn’t work because it has to be currency, not stocks, crypto, etc.
My back up is an ED visa, but I’m concerned because the fees aren’t refundable for either option, and I’m flying on 31st Oct.
If I’m being honest, I’m planning to train Muay Thai, and learn the language (probably seek citizenship eventually)
I get checks for life, and plan on working digitally on top of that, but they want 3 months of the money in my account to recieve DTV.
Can I come in with ED and and apply after the expiration from another SE country?
Is there any tips on how I still may be able to get the DTV? I really really want that one!
Hi guys, I’m in a bit of a quandary on what to do regarding visa. I arrived in Thailand on a non o 90:dy visa from uk with intention of getting a retirement visa. Since arriving I have been chatting with various people who have retirement visa and some who are not retirement age. Those that have went down the retirement visa route a few years ago using an agent are quite happy continuing as they have paid the bulk of the expenses and now just pay agent a fee to extend yearly, however two people I know that used different agent both had their bank accounts blocked, one of them went to bank and got her 500k in baht given to her in cash as they closed her account. The other person only had working money few thousand baht in his account so wasn’t concerned. Their respective agents have offered to open new accounts with other banks, the lady was sceptical but if wants to stay on visa she has to open account and there will be a charge .
One Russian guy that was in our company told us he has just done border runs to keep him in the country he is younger guy and last night a lady I met said she comes over regularly and gets 60 day entry and extends 30 day goes out country a week or so then returns and does the same. Have the rules relaxed a bit since January, I came back with my friends for second visit after a break of a month and one of my friends nearly got sent home and this was only their second visit in total to country . I really only want to stay from September to April with trips to Vietnam and Philippines in between, so my question is what’s the best way to do it without tying myself into costly visa requirements ? I have received a quote for the retirement visa from an agency, that will cost 30 k baht in total covering open bank, doing application and multiple entry . Am I being mean thinking this is expensive for the sakes of 3 months?
I’m hearing so much negative feedback from people on visa saying the government is making it difficult for retirees. I don’t have enough income for the wealthy visa however someone suggested dtv visa that would give me 180 days a year .
I’ve been here 2 weeks my 90 days up on late December so I need to decide , I have Thai phone number with receipts, passport up to date and a 90 non o visa .
Any suggestions and apologies in advance to anyone annoyed by my post, there are 4 of us travelling that are in similar situation
all ready to get the year visa but none of us stay more than 6 months in Thailand
Although, I already submitted them already in the original files.
Is it because the bank account I submitted does not match the account I receive my pay? The account I receive my pay does not have 500k is this a problem?
Just received my Non OA Visa. Flying end of the month to Thailand. Do I stil need to block the equivalent if 800 K THB here. Do I need to have them on a bank account in Thailand when i apply the first time within the 90 days after arrival st the immigrstion on Samui ? Would appreciate your sdvices very much.
Can I ask how someone can buy a condo in Thailand if they can't have a bank account? Before somebody says a tourist is not supposed to buy a condo: I personally own real estate and know plenty of people who own RE in countries where they are tourists.
