Good afternoon! Does anyone had experience to make a 1 time extension of Non - O ( thai child) 90 days stamp for another 60 days. In Chon Buri immigration they keep telling me that i can only extend it for 1 year. They never heard anything about 60 days 1 time extension......should i just try another province????

Attended Chon Buri immigration office today.

I originally arrived 8th December 21 on 60 day tourist visa.

They only give me the 30 extension at present as this must be done first before 60 day covid extension can be applied for.

Hey All 🙂

I arrived in Thailand on the 18th November and got the 1 month extension on the 17th December.

I asked for the covid extension but they strangely gave me the 1 month extension (I paid 1900 baht) and even more strangely extended it until January 31st (just over a month, around 6 weeks).

Am I still able to get the Covid Extension, and can I still get it now, or do I have to wait until the end of my current extension?

My local Immigration is Chon Buri.

Thank you 🙂

This is a info post based on my experience today at Chon Buri Immigration . I went to apply for a 1 year extension to my Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage to a Thai National. 2-3 weeks ago I visited Chon Buri Immigration and collected the check list required to apply. This is not my first extension so I knew what was required but wanted to make sure that I had the 'up to date' check list. Upon arriving at counter 6 the Immigration officer started to check the documents and was rejected because you now need proof that your marriage is still current and the last 3 months worth of bank statements that you have the seasoned funds in. These 2 extra requirements are not on the check list and if they had of been I would have complied. We were told to come back at 1300 tomorrow. We then went to the local Amphur and obtained the documents showing our marriage was still current and my wife said the lady there said that many people had been that day requiring the same document. Now before any one asks I had the letter from the bank and I deposited 100 baht to my account and done a bank book update this morning and had photocopied the bank book showing the funds being in there for over 3 months. I will update the bank book before I go again tomorrow and have printed out from online banking my last 3 months worth of statements. I hope this helps anyone applying for a 1 year extension based on NI O Visa based on marriage and if anyone else can concurr they have had a similar experience at Chon Buri Immigration the drop a comment. Cheers.

For your information. I’m not looking for advice just relaying what happened at Chon Buri immigration when I applied today. I prepared everything as usual and it was accepted other than my financials. I got the extension refused due to lack of funds. I get part of my salary paid into my Thai bank from my European employers. This figure in Baht has diminished due to the falling GBP, so in recent months has been less than 40k Baht. I recognised this situation months ago so topped up my Thai account to around 50k in every case. There has always been in excess of 40 k in my account over the last 12 month period. The bank statements showed this but immigration refused to add the 2 figures together and said there was a shortfall in the past 3 months. No matter how myself and my Thai wife explained the situation immigration refused to recognise the 2nd top up transfer from the UK. No extension granted.

The next part is interesting albeit dubious. The immigration officer to me I did not need an extension anyway because I leave Thailand for 6 months of the year. I leave and enter Thailand usually twice a month. He said there was no problem using visa exemption for as many times as required during the year. His instructions were to carry my marriage Certificate and Tabian Baan and to produce them at immigration in the airport. Tell them I am visiting my Thai wife and there will be no problem In entering. This only applies to arriving by air and not land crossings.

Sorry it’s so long winded, but made it as short as I could.

Amazing Thailand

Once again I need to tap the collective wisdom of this great group.

If I move from Saraburi (permanently) to Chon Buri during my 90 day report period, do I report to Chon buri immigration on the day I would have done so at Saraburi? Or am I obliged to report to Chom Buri immigration within 24 hours of arrival in Chon buri? Thus triggering a new 90 day period. Thank you.

Need some useful tips in dealing with Chon Buri Immigration - I’m moving from Bangkok to Chon Burin next week 🙂

1. Are they strict on TM28 and TM30 being lodged when moving, travelling etc?

2. How is the wait/queue there compared to Bangkok?

3. How are they to deal with in general, and anything that you think would be beneficial to know?

Looking for people with recent experience and knowledge...the likes of Tod etc.
