This is a info post based on my experience today at Chon Buri Immigration . I went to apply for a 1 year extension to my Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage to a Thai National. 2-3 weeks ago I visited Chon Buri Immigration and collected the check list required to apply. This is not my first extension so I knew what was required but wanted to make sure that I had the 'up to date' check list. Upon arriving at counter 6 the Immigration officer started to check the documents and was rejected because you now need proof that your marriage is still current and the last 3 months worth of bank statements that you have the seasoned funds in. These 2 extra requirements are not on the check list and if they had of been I would have complied. We were told to come back at 1300 tomorrow. We then went to the local Amphur and obtained the documents showing our marriage was still current and my wife said the lady there said that many people had been that day requiring the same document. Now before any one asks I had the letter from the bank and I deposited 100 baht to my account and done a bank book update this morning and had photocopied the bank book showing the funds being in there for over 3 months. I will update the bank book before I go again tomorrow and have printed out from online banking my last 3 months worth of statements. I hope this helps anyone applying for a 1 year extension based on NI O Visa based on marriage and if anyone else can concurr they have had a similar experience at Chon Buri Immigration the drop a comment. Cheers.

The real rule is the 400K baht has to be in your account for 2 months before you APPLY for your new yearly extension (not before your current one expires) so anyone telling you that it's longer is blowing smoke up your backside.

It's been pretty standard requirement to either get a 6 month detail transaction print out OR if you update your bank book regularly enough use those pages to show that the funds are seasoned the required time frame.

They don't write a bank letter stating the funds have been in the account for any length of time, it's just a 5 or 6 line letter saying your name, your account number and the balance on the date the letter was written.

That get a new Kor Ror 2 <- the thai only 'form-like' certificate you can get printed at the Amphur has been a requirement for a couple years now at various immigration offices. It's the ONLY document that shows you're still married and the only thing that can be printed on demand from any Amphur.

Thanx for the update. Sorry they had additional requirements even though you stopped in to get the list. 😕 It happens..

cheers. My main gripe was that the check list wasn't up to date so it wastes theirs and my time. Anyways all sorted now with the 'under consideration' stamp in the passport and another visit in a month. Safe to say you can probably turn off commenting now.

nothing vexes me more than people who actually TRY to get ahead of the curve, be proactive instead of reactive as far as having the required documents/copies etc only for them to be given outdated information.

Sorry that happened to you.

The letter, from amphur office, to prove you are married, I have done that since 2014, every year.

Is this 'still married' document (what is the code no.?) requested from all Pattaya applicants?

Or would we miss the hoop on our 15th 'marriage' visa extension, and known to the officer?

, I will do it later when I'm home

I understand, thank you. Here in Chiang Mai they asked as well for the certificate of the Central register in Bangkok

@Ana ******
unless I'm mistaken that IS the Kor Ror 2 form because it's the only form that shows you're still married when they print it off and thats why they ask you to get a new one every year.

Send me an image of the "certificate of the Central Register" if you have one

Is that the amphur one (former colorful one) or from the central register?

AND just so we're clear, IF you got married to your thai spouse OUTSIDE of thailand. Many amphurs are no requiring you get a Kor Ror 22 <- the registration of a thai married abroad form, from the Amphur

@Ana ******
when you get married in thailand <- register a marriage at the Amphur you get TWO different documents. The rose bordered one (Kor Ror 3) and the form looking one (Kor Ror 2).

You can't get another Kor Ror 3 (rose bordered one), it's a one off thing you get when you get married BUT you can get a Kor Ror 2 (the form one) when ever you want to at the local amphur.

Some immigration offices are requiring a Kor Ror 2 be not more than a year old (making you get a new one every year)

The documents look like this

Left image is Kor Ror 2, right image is Kor Ror 3

@Harry *******
it's totally immigration office specific, BUT seeing as it costs only 20 baht to get the document reprinted at ANY amphur in the country (if your marriage is in the data base) I'd say you're out nothing by going and getting a recent one (just in case you're asked for it)

It's called a Kor Ror 2 (ค.ร.๒๒ in thai). Looks like a form all in thai. It is NOT that snazzy suitable for framing rose bordered one (the Kor Ror 3) ;)

In past applications I've included my คร2 from yonks ago. What you're saying is it would behove me to get an updated one?

@Harry *******
I'm saying it cost 20 baht at the Amphur to print one.

What if, at your next extension application they DID happen to ask for one (seeing as it's the ONLY form that shows you're still married legally) and you didn't have it. That could put you in a bind.

What is the down side to getting one?

I have been using my one from 2014 and it was no problem last year but yesterday I was rejected at Chon Buri (Jomtien) Immigration and advised I needed a current Kor 2 stamped by the Amphur.

REMINDER: This post is for Chon Buri Immigration only! I do not want to see comments about what goes on in the Nakom Nowhere immigration office. Thank you.

You may need those statements to be stamped by your bank....

I was just contemplating that whilst slapping myself upside the head for not asking if that's what was required.
