Hi, if someone comes in with a 2 month tourist visa from the Philippines, gets stamped in at Suvarnabhumi airport but then goes to Chonburi province, at the end of the 2 months, when ready to ask for an extension for another 30 days, can we go to Chonburi immigration? Or do we need to go to the Bangkok branch?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you enter Thailand on a 2-month tourist visa and are staying in Chonburi, you can request a 30-day extension at the local immigration office in Chonburi. While it is generally recommended to apply at the immigration office corresponding to your place of residence, some discretion may apply based on the officers on duty. It is best to use your local office to avoid any issues.

My experience was I was only able to get the 30 day extension in the provence you reside in. That is written on the tourist visa application But this is discrestionary with the Immigration Officers. Some will procees you some will not. It depends how the officer feel on the day.

ONE FINAL time, you apply for an extension at the immigration office where you are registered as staying, you can't just show up at a random office because you're in the area and apply for an extension.

Most and more offices are requiring a TM30 (from the place you're staying) to get a 30 day extension on a free entry or a 60 day tourist visa

, you can apply for tourism extension in any province as long as you have TM30 receipt there. And tourism extension will be issued unless there is a clear reason to be rejected, regardless of the officer's feelings.

You use the immigration office where you're staying to get the extension.

There are OVER 80 offices in the country so use the one in your area..
