My Thai wife is living with me in the UK. She has the first part of her 5 year spouse visa 2.9 years.
I have heard rumours that she could travel to Turkey for a holiday without applying for a Schengen visa. Does anyone know if thats accurate? And if so, any other countrys her Thai passport allows her to go? Would like to show her some other countrys without all the schengen hassle.

TLDR : Answer Summary

Several comments confirmed that Thai passport holders can enter Turkey without a visa, contrasting it with Schengen requirements, and shared insights about traveling to Turkey and the associated experiences.
"I have heard rumours that she could travel to Turkey for a holiday without applying for a Schengen visa. Does anyone know if thats accurate?" Sounds like a question = you do not know = look it up online, easy to see which countries are part of the Schengen Zone/area, is all I said.
We lived in Turkey for 8 months .. 3.months visa issued upon entry..it is cheap for sure but once you live there and start paying in tl you can also feel the bite of the low value of the tl and hear locals complaining that life is expensive..however, it all depends on how you look at it. Since we were dependent on our dollars we really enjoyed our time in Turkiye and almost.lives there permanently planning to buy an apartment until we discovered how tricky real estate agents are and the process of transferring the ownership ..so we left after 8 months but still go back once in a while for a short stays..turkiye will always be one of my favourite places to live if immigration rules are more friendlier in the future.
